Whole Body Vibration Testing
- Engineers work to develop representative drive cycles to replicate typical vibration inputs
- Facilities provide 700 acres of proving ground (with over 70km of metalled and non-road test tracks) where drive cycles are easily repeated for accurate test on test comparisons
- Vibration test experts provide advice on the most cost-effective solution
Millbrook has developed a collection of new, low-cost test techniques that can help vehicle manufacturers and operators alike ensure that their vehicles and equipment comply with the latest directives for Whole Body and Hand & Arm Vibration testing (EC 2002/44/EC) to the latest ISO requirements (ISO 2631 and ISO 5349) which came into force in July 2010. These test techniques can be combined with internal noise testing to EC directive 2003/10/EC and ISO 1999 requirements to offer a comprehensive range of Health and Safety testing.
The problem of WBV and HAV occurs when employees are continually exposed to the vibrations from a vehicle or equipment as part of their role. Implications of WBV and HAV on the person’s body can be extremely significant, with studies showing evidence of increased health risks with regard to the neck, arms, shoulders and back. Other studies have highlighted major effects on digestive systems and even female reproductive organs.
Our team of specialist vibration test engineers can collect Whole Body and Hand & Arm (WBV and HAV) vibration data on any vehicle type (from motorbikes to military vehicles) or hand-held equipment, and replicate exact and repeatable test cycles on our broad range of test facilities. Using our state-of-the-art data acquisition systems and extensive test track facilities we can produce extremely accurate and repeatable measurements on all vehicle types with compliance results issued within hours of the test being performed thus allowing fast analysis of vehicle performance.
