Graduate Programme

Applications for our Gradate programme are now closed and will re-open in the Autumn.

Are you a Graduate looking to start your career on the right tracks? Our Graduate programme exposes you to real-life projects across Millbrook, enabling you to grow the knowledge and expertise required for a future with us!

Millbrook is an exciting and unique place to launch your Engineering career; working within world class facilities in a friendly and supportive environment. Our Graduate programme involves a number of rotational placements within diverse service streams across the business. The experience gained, coupled with personal development and funding towards professional accreditation, supports Graduates in securing a role as an Engineer at the end of the programme.

Developing Skills and Experience

During the 2-year programme, you will work with our Managers, Engineers and Technicians within different business areas. You will work on, and take responsibility for, genuine projects within any of the following departments:

  • Powertrain
  • Crash Test and Safety Systems
  • Component Test Laboratory
  • Vehicle Measurement
  • Durability
  • Special Vehicles

We trust our Graduates to apply their theoretical knowledge to our work content, combined with the expertise and encouragement of Millbrook colleagues. A formal programme structure means that the beginning of your career is exciting, challenging and well supported by our HR and business management teams. Regular one-to-ones ensure that your career is on the right tracks.

Professional Accreditation

To support your continued development, we fund and support professional accreditation through approved bodies such as IMechE. In most cases the Monitored Professional Development Scheme (MPDS) is the appropriate route for accreditation.

Training and Personal Development

With significant new investment, we are diversifying into new markets and expanding internationally – which means even greater training and career opportunities. We believe that learning takes a variety of forms. These include training, development workshops, stretch assignments and job shadowing, all of which are made available during the programme.

To help Graduates measure their progress, objectives  and development plans are agreed at the start of each rotational placement. Regular reviews with placement managers and our HR Advisor ensure that candidates have the opportunity to evaluate their contribution and performance as well as identify where they feel they need further development. Our flexible approach ensures that a programme can be adapted to help achieve success.

Requirements

To be considered for the Graduate programme, you must be studying towards a 2:1 or above in a relevant Engineering degree subject.

We are looking for individuals with excellent communication skills, attention to detail and team working ethos. At Millbrook, Graduates with problem solving skills, who thrive on planning and organisation but are willing to show flexibility and ‘out the box’ thinking, succeed.  Previous work experience or an Undergraduate placement within Millbrook or a similar organisation is desirable, though not essential.

Our Graduate programme starts in September, when all successful candidates are expected to begin employment with us. Evidence of your completed degree will be required upon commencement of the programme.

All Millbrook employees must be willing to undergo a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check and SC level security clearance may be required for some roles within restricted departments.
