Compliance & Risk Manager - Site Services

Location: Millbrook, Bedfordshire

Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Compliance and Risk Manager within Millbrook. The successful role holder will lead the internal audit function and assist the Senior Compliance & Risk Manager with overseeing the Integrated Management System (IMS). This will involve reviewing and evaluating compliance/conformity issues within the organisation and ensuring that the management and staff adhere with Company policies and procedures with regular reporting of non-conformances to the Leadership Team for corrective action.

Role Responsibilities

Supports and assists the Senior Manager - Compliance and Risk in all aspects of their role through:-

  • ensuring processes are in place to comply with identified legal and regulatory requirements
  • working with Department Managers to improve compliance
  • working with process owners on continual improvement and risk reduction
  • collaborating with and supporting all departments to resolve issues and the promotion of excellence
  • managing and developing internal auditor resource
  • continual improvement of the internal audit process
  • managing the IMS
  • reporting key metrics to, and guiding the Leadership Team
  • Act in accordance with the behaviours for Millbrook staff at all times

Essential Criteria


  • Lead Auditor for ISO 9001 and ISO 14001
  • Strong grades in secondary education English and Maths
  • Member of professional organisation in quality management is desirable
  • Experience as Lead Auditor for ISO 17025 / 22301 / 27001 is desirable
  • Degree or equivalent in Engineering is desirable


  • Likely to have 3 to 5 years previous experience of assessing technical organisations to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 Standards


  • Be the source of expertise and advice to all Millbrook staff in the requirements of Management System Standards
  • Good knowledge of the relevant ISO Standards
  • Attention to detail
  • Realistic and rational approach to enforcing the Integrated Management System
  • Able to politely and firmly “stand ground” as appropriate when raising audit findings that are contested
  • Competent in Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Visio, comfortable with analysing data
  • Competent with constructing and delivering presentations
  • Methodical record storage and general approach to tasks
  • Excellent written and face to face personal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate at all levels
  • Ability to analyse process methods and develop improvements to them
