Health & Safety Officer - Human Resources

Job Summary

An exciting opportunitiy has become available for a Health & Safety Officer at Millbrook Proving Ground. Reporting to the Health and Safety Manger, you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of the management of health and safety across the 700-acre Millbrook site. The successful candidate will be working proactively with all levels of staff and onsite guests to maintain and improve safe systems of work across varied departments.

Role Responsibilities

  • Assisting with investigation into accidents, incidents and near misses to establish root cause and develop action plans with relevant departments
  • Audit against policies, procedures and legal requirements
  • Ensuring compliance with current legislation
  • Ongoing development of a health and safety culture
  • Ensure risk and CoSHH assessments are carried out and control measures implemented
  • Conduct training and Health and Safety inductions for employees
  • Supporting health and safety meetings, safety briefings to senior management and tool box talks
  • Act in accordance with the behaviours for Millbrook staff at all times

Criteria

Qualifications
  • NEBOSH general certificate in occupational health and safety (or equivalent)
  • Working towards NEBOSH Diploma in occupational health and safety or equivalent)
Experience
  • Engineering/automotive background
  • Knowledge of fuels is desirable
  • Good knowledge of Health and Safety management
  • Good knowledge of general Health and Safety
Skills
  • Competent at using Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good organisational skills

Travel Required: Travel as required within the UK and mainland Europe
