Instrumentation Prep Technician - Safety

Job Summary

An opportunity has become available for an Instrumentation Prep Technician to join the Crash department at Millbrook. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing vehicles for crash tests; namely fitting sensors to the test vehicle, photographing installed sensors, routing of cables and computer setup.

Role Responsibilities

  • Remove vehicle trim and other parts without damage
  • Install a range of sensors to customer requirements
  • Route sensor cables to the data acquisition system
  • Create test setup on a Windows PC
  • Remove equipment from the vehicle after the test has been completed
  • Repair and maintain equipment as required
  • Act in accordance with the behaviours for Millbrook staff at all times

Essential Criteria

  • Recognised qualification in Motor Mechanics, or similar (eg City & Guilds)
  • Fine-detail soldering
  • Use of a basic digital camera, including computer download
  • Use of a Windows PC
  • Detailed understanding of motor vehicles
  • Soldering
  • Attention to detail
  • Using a ‘point and shoot’ digital camera
  • Computer literacy
