Instrumentation Technician - Safety

Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Instrumentation Technician to join the Crash team based at Millbrook. The successful role holder will be responsible for preparing vehicles for crash tests, recording data during the test and removing equipment after the test has been completed.

Role Responsibilities

  • Remove vehicle trim and other parts without damage
  • Install a range of sensors to suit customer requirements
  • Set up data acquisition equipment
  • Ensure all equipment functions correctly prior to the commencement of the test
  • Record data during test
  • Report any channel failures to the Engineering team
  • Remove equipment from tested vehicle
  • Repair and maintain equipment as required
  • Act in accordance with the behaviours for Millbrook staff at all times

Essential Criteria


  • Electronic engineering qualification (HNC/HND preferred)


  • Fine-detail soldering
  • Fault finding
  • Operation of test equipment, data acquisition equipment and sensors 


  • Soldering
  • Understanding of circuit diagrams
  • Attention to detail
  • Computer literacy
