Senior Performance & Economy Engineer - Powertrain ETC

Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior P&E Engineer to join the Powertrain department within Millbrook. The successful role holder will be responsible for customer liaison and the running of their engine test programs with high levels of effiiency. The Senior P&E Engineer is responsible for data analysis and the generation of test reports that are tailored to specific customer requirements.

Role Responsibilities

  • Ensure all H&S and quality procedures have been adhered to
  • Generate engine installation packs and schematics for accurate test bed setups
  • Identify engine faults and lead effective solutions
  • Processing and validation of engine test data to a high standard
  • Analysing and presenting data and results to customers and peers
  • Provide technical support to customers and business development
  • Track project efficiency and maintain project related invoicing
  • Deliver ‘Performance & Economy’ development projects for a variety of customers
  • Work well within a team environment
  • Develop initiatives to reduce waste and optimise efficiency
  • Develop best working practises and provide training to others
  • Act in accordance with the behaviours for Millbrook staff at all times

Essential Criteria

Qualifications

  • Automotive/Mechanical Engineering Degree or HND plus relevant experience

Experience

  • Experience in an automotive engineering discipline, preferably having worked with engine development testing techniques and methodology
  • Strong understanding of gasoline and diesel engine mechanical fundamentals
  • A strong background in the use of engine test cell equipment and software, including emissions measurement, combustion analysis and calibration tools
  • Proven exposure to gasoline and diesel ECM controls

  • Project Management
  • Organised with good communication skills
  • High level of technical competence with a methodical approach
  • Understanding of complex engines, testing techniques and associated equipment and tools
  • Skills in electronic, electrical and mechanical engine diagnostics
  • Strong IT skills especially MS Excel
  • Good understanding of H&S practices
