Vehicle Technician - Main Vehicle Workshop

Location: Millbrook, Bedfordshire
Shift Pattern: 3-shift pattern – lates / earlies / days

Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Vehicle Technician to join the Central Operations team within the main vehicle workshop at Millbrook. The successful candidate will be required to work on a variety of vehicles to a high standard, and day-to-day activities will include carrying out repairs, fault finding, servicing, vehicle inspections and diagnostic checks.

Role Responsibilities

  • Light vehicle, LGV and bus/coach repairs and general servicing
  • Vehicle fault finding
  • Diagnostic checks using various diagnostic equipment
  • Conduct durability test vehicle measurements
  • Complete work tickets with detailed written report on the work actioned
  • Liaise with supporting staff, Engineers, Supervisor and customers on a technical level
  • Ensure all Health, Safety and Quality procedures are adhered to
  • Act in accordance with the behaviours for Millbrook staff at all times

Essential Criteria

Qualifications
  • Formal Automotive qualification
  • Completed full Automotive apprenticeship (desirable)
Experience
  • Experience working as an automotive technician
  • Strong electrical experience
  • Experience with prototype and test vehicles
  • Vehicle inspection experience
  • Working within a team
Skills
  • Excellent automotive background and knowledge
  • General IT skills (MS Word, Excel etc)
  • Some motorcycle experience (desirable)
  • Fabrication and metalwork experience (desirable)
  • LGV / PSV driving licence (desirable)
