- Accelerated corrosion simulating 1
year in 2 weeks
- Whole vehicle, system or component
- Exposure to salt, gravel and dust
- Elevated temperature and humidity
- Stone chipping
- Salt splash and spray
- Various road surfaces and vehicle
speeds to promote and accelerate
corrosion mechanisms
Corrosion performance can make or break a
manufacturer’s reputation, and in many
instances will be the overriding factor
governing the lifespan of a vehicle. We are
able to conduct corrosion tests, correlated
to “real world” conditions, at all stages of
development from prototype through to
production.
Such tests, which can be combined with
structural or quality programmes, will
ensure that coatings provide sufficient
protection for the target market but of
equal importance are not over specified.
Environmental chambers are available to
accommodate any size of test piece, up to a
double decker bus, with tests further
enhanced by the addition of solar load
simulation and chemical or dust
contamination. Combinations of temperature,
humidity and solar loading are available to
reproduce just about any real-world climate,
with accelerated ageing achievable through
the application of extreme conditions.
