DVD2016 hosted at Millbrook Proving Ground

Hosting the UK’s most important defence showcase

  • World-renowned Bedfordshire site hosts military vehicle and technology show
  • Event is jointly run by Army Headquarters and Defence Equipment & Support (DE&S), bringing together individuals from across the military and engineering industry
  • Millbrook to exhibit at event to present expertise in military testing
  • Defence credentials reinforced by TATA contract managed by Millbrook to provide testing facilities and expertise to UK MOD

Development, modernisation and the sustainment of Army capabilities will be the key themes for DVD2016, hosted at Millbrook Proving Ground from 7 – 8 September 2016. DVD is attended by professionals from across the defence acquisition and support sectors, as well as military and industry stakeholders, with the event providing an opportunity to discuss the key issues affecting current and future equipment support and sustainment. Talks will reflect the Army’s continued focus on a return to a contingent operational footing, as well as how to become a defence supplier, and opportunities to meet and speak to high level MOD procurement specialists.

Millbrook’s site provides the ideal location for the show, with expansive indoor and outdoor exhibition spaces. Millbrook is able to host a full seminar programme as well as challenging off-road tours.

DE&S has a long-term agreement with Millbrook and its partners to provide through-life, cross-DLOD support and engineering advice for its equipment programmes (Testing Advice and Trialing Arrangement (TATA)). As an independent testing facility, Millbrook is the perfect choice for trials and evaluation of land-based vehicles, components and equipment. It is also a recognised authority for legislative, safety and environmental requirements.

This year’s event is separated into three streams: the in-service and future platforms required to deliver the Army’s new Strike capability, the technologies and innovations required to minimise the Army’s logistic need within the contemporary strategic environment, and the capabilities to enable the right forces, at the right readiness standards, to deal with the full range of operational demands that could be placed upon them.

Alex Burns, President, Millbrook Group, welcomed the show saying: “We are delighted to welcome DVD2016 back to Millbrook as our partnership with the MOD continues to grow. Millbrook is the ideal location for military testing, with its mix of technical expertise and automotive experience. We expect the show to be a great success.”
