Millbrook offers the facilities and expertise to test every aspect of an electric or hybrid propulsion system – from components and sub-assemblies through to full systems and whole vehicles.
Millbrook can take every component of the electric or hybrid drivetrain and support its validation and development against design parameters. For example, it specialises in operating starter generator, e-motor, e-axle and inverter test rigs, on which it runs durability tests with climatic cycling, and in automotive battery durability, lifecycle and abuse testing.
Millbrook runs full propulsion system durability and efficiency tests on electric motor test rigs. These offer high accuracy over a very wide range of speed and torque settings. It has a wide range of dynamometers, including some with very high power and very high speed capabilities. These can simulate anything from a heavy goods vehicle to a race car application and other highly transient installations, enabling customers to improve durability, performance and range.
Millbrook offers powertrain rigs, chassis dynamometers, PEMS units, test tracks and road driving routes to run WLTP certification profiles on complete vehicles. In addition, it offers cold-weather test facilities in Finland with sub-zero temperatures year-round, perfect for driven tests in a cold environment.
