Jerome Cretet – Business Development
I have just been in Millbrook for 8 months now, and I do really feel at home. I have been very well welcomed by everybody, at any level of the organisation (technicians, engineers and managers), and so even if I am a young French citizen!

I am in charge of the French account, as part of the Business Development team. I am then mainly busy getting work coming from France, and keeping our clients happy by working together with the operational teams. I have then been involved in many kind of projects, from durability, to powertrain, crash... This variety of technical areas is a routine killer. And thanks to an open-minded management, some auxiliary responsibilities have already been forwarded to me, like business data post-processing and analysis for instance. I have really good prospects in the forthcoming months and years.

To conclude, discovering prototypes and manufacturers projects at such early stages is a real chance for anybody interested in cars. So, if you are a ‘petrolhead’, like I am, everyday has its part of excitement in here!

Dave Everitt – Crash Laboratory
I joined Millbrook 10 years ago in the Crashworthiness Department firstly in the Crash Test dummy area as a Technician. Then was lucky enough to progress to the position of Hyge Sled Supervisor overseeing Photographic, Instrumentation and Mechanical Technicians. Within this time I did a day release college course to gain my HND which Millbrook allowed me to do. Couple of years ago I moved to the Crash Laboratory Supervising the day to day Crash Tests as well as Photographic. More recently when Millbrook acquired a contract to work with TRL in Crowthorne on Security bollards and Car to car crash Tests I have been able to progress my Supervisory skills to liaise and run the outside tests there. I find working at Millbrook enjoyable and interesting with one of the big reasons being the people I work with and the different people I meet from the various customers that come here.

Andy Radley – Powertrain
On joining Millbrook over 11 years ago I have had a wide and varied career path I started in crash in 1995 mainly to help prep vehicles prior to test but as is the nature of the job you are called upon to extend your range of capabilities. I worked alongside Steve James (then a student) attempting to design a way for a vehicle to come down the tunnel sideways (failed and the vehicle shot out the side of the tunnel) also performing jumps off a ramp at up to 100kph and kerb strikes OUCH!

After two years of this adventure I moved into component test where I did everything from testing the roll bars on race cars to checking the durability of cigarette lighters in cars and creating machines to simulate bums getting in and out of seats and more ramp jumps and kerb strikes OUCH!

When gas conversions first started I built and designed all the original jigs for the assembly line and help design all the first brackets and made the prototypes ready for production. Oh and don’t forget the ramp jumps OUCH!

On to emission testing. My work in emission testing has been varied and interesting and has opened my eyes to some very interesting environmental issues. As with every task I have undertaken at Millbrook it has been varied, interesting and backed up with expert knowledge and guidance, and without a doubt it has been a pleasure to come to work for the last eleven years. Oh and still doing those ramp jumps OUCH! (getting too old!! )
