Infrastructure and Facilities Project Engineer
Location: Millbrook Proving Ground - Bedford, UK

Working Monday to Friday 08:00 - 16:30
Reporting to – Senior Manager for Infrastructure and Facilities
The primary responsibility of this role is to take projects from conception to completion. The projects will range from £0 to £5m where you could be required to manage the project independently or with support from a consultant network.
Role and Responsibilities
- Attend meetings with the internal Operations Group and establish scope
- Design basic proof of concept
- Create basic CAD designs from agreed scope
- Estimate required budget and time to complete projects
- Completion of relevant paperwork with project team to issue to the Finance department to secure funding for project (CAPEX)
- Design the project in full and secure all legal requirements, for example, planning adhering to legislation
- Creating tender documentation for construction works
- Working with Finance to award the construction package
- Delivering project to strict deadlines, specifications and budget
- Ensuring CDM2015 is followed throughout
- Act in accordance with the behaviours for Millbrook staff at all times
Person Specification
Qualifications
- HNC, Degree or equivalent site based experience in relevant field (essential)
Experience
- Minimum 5 years in a construction project management role (essential)
- Previous experience in a planning and design role from either client side or contractor side or associated profession (desirable)
- Proven ability to understand contract obligations between stakeholders (essential)
- Proven ability to measure cost and estimate required materials not compromising on quality (essential)
- Experience in the planning and delivery of technical test facilities (desirable)
- Experience in developing briefs with Technical Engineers (desirable)
- Awareness of all construction trades
Skills
- Proficient user of Microsoft Office products
- Project management skills (essential)
- AutoCAD user (beneficial)
- Good understanding of construction process and building regulations (essential)
