Stores Person – Special Vehicles

UTAC Special Vehicles is a leading expert in vehicle conversions. It engineers vehicles with enhanced capabilities, including discreet protection, systems integration and reduced emissions. It offers bespoke prototype modifications and small series production from a secure site and uses Millbrook Proving Ground’s test tracks to develop the platforms. The automotive skill set of the team and the unique location make UTAC Special Vehicles an ideal partner for specialist conversions

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Receive, check and locate material consignments
  • Book in material receipts on ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), ORACLE Fusion
  • Pick and pack material consignments for dispatch both internally and externally
  • Pick and collate materials for production build to schedules from various onsite Stores/Warehouses
  • Collect and deliver offsite supplier/customer consignments
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient and reliable stock control and provision for production
  • Assist with stock takes and conduct regular cyclic stock checks
  • Engage in the continuous improvement activities of the Business to improve processes and working with the engineering and production leadership teams to improve efficiency/quality during build.
  • Be responsible for maintaining a working environment in accordance to health and safety standards.
  • Act in accordance with the code of conduct for UTAC group staff at all times.


Person Specification

  • Experience of working within a busy Stores/Warehouse and production environment.
  • Experience within an engineering stores environment would be advantageous, but not essential.
  • Experience working on an ERP system would be advantageous (ORACLE Fusion, SAP, Sage etc)
  • Basic numeracy and literacy
  • A fork truck (Reach & Balance) license would be advantageous, although not essential as training will be provided.

  • Good Level of understanding of the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
  • Technical minute taking
  • Report authoring
  • Good understanding of Quality Control management processes
  • Familiarity of working in an ISO 90001 environment
  • Good understanding of Safety & Environmental management processes

Essential requirements:
  • Willing to undergo a Criminal Disclosure check
  • SC clearance or ability to achieve this (UK national with residency in the UK for the last 5 years)
  • Full UK driving license

Travel Required:               Travel as required within the UK and mainland Europe
