Millbrook is hosting, and exhibiting at, the Cenex-LCV event on the 4-5 September 2019. Last year’s showcase of low carbon and connected vehicle technology attracted a record 4,300 attendees and over 250 exhibitors, setting the stage for this year’s event to be the biggest and best yet.
On the first day of the event, Millbrook will be officially opening its battery testing laboratory. The facility is the UK’s latest, and biggest, private investment in independent battery testing. It has been delivering battery durability programmes throughout its commissioning, providing crucial data for battery development. The laboratory consists of 12 battery cycling climatic chambers and supporting infrastructure.
Over the last couple of years, Millbrook has opened and upgraded a range facilities in the UK to support the automotive and transport sectors in testing and developing advanced propulsion technologies, connected and autonomous vehicle systems, and intelligent transport solutions.
We are proud to be continuing to invest in our people, equipment and facilities to support the development of low carbon and connected vehicle technology. The Battery Test Facility complements our battery safety and abuse test offering and assists in positioning the UK as a world leader in shaping the future of mobility and clean growth.
Millbrook conducts automated battery life cycling and abuse testing against standard, non-standard and development procedures. Its engineers provide expert technical support for battery development and validation processes.
This year, Cenex-LCV will be co-located with the new Cenex-Connected Automated Mobility event. In addition to opening its Battery Test Facility, Millbrook will also be opening its Autonomous Village, launching its CAV testbed and demonstrating real-time data acquisition and transfer, 5G testing and simulation.
