Millbrook has won an unprecedented three awards in the 2019 edition of the Automotive Testing Technology International (ATTI) Awards. This is the first time any company has achieved such a feat.
Millbrook was awarded Engine Test Facility of the year for its propulsion systems testing facilities, as well as Proving Ground of the Year in recognition of the extensive investment in existing and new facilities over the past 12 months. All category winners were also put forward for the coveted Company of the Year prize, which Millbrook also won, for the second time.
The awards are open to all companies operating in the automotive development and testing sector. Every new vehicle and product introduced to the market from August 2018 to September 2019 was eligible for consideration. The awards were officiated by a panel of automotive test experts and leading journalists.
Since 2015, Millbrook has invested £120 million in its test facilities globally. This includes its new Battery Test Facility, the UK’s largest private investment in independent battery testing. It also opened the Autonomous Village to enable Connected and Autonomous Vehicle (CAV) technology development and has the UK’s first 5G network for CAVs. In Finland, Millbrook opened new indoor winter test facilities in March, expanding year-round capabilities for tyre and vehicle testing.
Earlier this year, Millbrook opened the UK’s most comprehensive independent propulsion systems test, validation and certification facility. This includes two 4WD Climatic Emissions Chassis Dynamometers, a PEMS workshop and a 4WD Powertrain-in-the-Loop Test System. To develop its global electric vehicle test offering, Millbrook has opened a new facility in the USA, in Hayward, CA to provide test services in the Bay Area.
Alex Burns, President of Millbrook, said, “We are absolutely delighted to have won three of these prestigious awards this year. They are testament to the hard work of all of our employees, who deliver test services to our global customer base. Through our comprehensive facilities worldwide, we are seeing our vision of being a leading global provider of independent test services and test systems become a reality.”
Rachel Evans, Deputy Editor of Automotive Testing Technology International, said, “Millbrook was a clear winner in both the Proving Ground of the Year and Engine Test Facility of the Year categories at the Automotive Testing Technology International Awards. With a raft of ongoing upgrades, Millbrook continues to remain one step ahead of the game in terms of its test and development offering. Millbrook’s dedication to support the engineering industry has resulted in it winning the prestigious Company of the Year title in the 2019 ATTI Awards.”
