Millbrook Group, the leading provider of engineering, trialling, safety, legislative requirements and performance support to vehicle manufacturers and system suppliers in the Defence industry, will be exhibiting at this year’s DSEI event, taking place from 12-15 September in London.

The event marks the start of the second year of Millbrook’s Technical Advice and Trialling Agreement (TATA) with the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD). Millbrook’s team will be at the show to demonstrate the company’s expertise in conducting test and development procedures for land vehicle programmes, including programmes run for the MoD under TATA, a five-year contract to provide engineering advice and trials.

Millbrook has a wide range of trialling facilities and many years of experience in automotive testing. Its proving ground in Bedfordshire is an ideal location for project teams. The company’s simple and rapid tasking process enables quick response, and Millbrook’s experts are embedded into project teams to enable the fullest possible access to resources and facilities. That support extends to the other companies working with Millbrook on the agreement. Together with these companies, the agreement has seen over 50 tasks completed to date.

Completed tasks have ranged from assistance with requirement setting, vehicle assessments, trials including human factors, EMC, and RadHaz, to environmental, mobility and post-design support.

Kieran Forinton, Director of Programmes at Millbrook said: “The TATA contract has formalised the support that we have offered to MoD vehicle programmes for the past 15 years. It is mutually beneficial, allowing us to bring lessons learned from UK Defence Programmes into our wider business, and to adding a contemporary automotive perspective to MoD requirements.

“Our involvement across a wide range of programmes has brought cost savings to the MoD through rationalisation of trials and the transfer of benefits realised in one programme to others.”

Millbrook’s TATA contract and collaboration with other sector experts facilitates access to many resources in industry and academia. Advisors are on hand at DE&S and support is organised rapidly in response to MoD requirements, often within hours.
