Accelerometer Calibration

Millbrook has a UKAS accredited calibration laboratory (No. 10121). This is the only such accredited accelerometer calibration laboratory with reference grade calibration, shock calibration and temperature calibration systems in the UK.

The work of the accelerometer calibration laboratory covers the measurement of acceleration transducer sensitivity (all common types) and the transfer function of associated conditioning amplifiers. It performs high frequency, low frequency, temperature and shock accelerometer sensor calibrations.

Calibration Types

Accelerometers are very small, sensitive pieces of equipment and require expert calibration to ensure that the sensor performs according to specification. Millbrook calibrates a range of accelerometers including:

  • Integrated electronics
  • Piezoelectric accelerometers
  • Piezoresistive accelerometers

It also performs charge amplifier and system calibrations.

Accelerometer Scope Document

Millbrook can calibrate for shock between 20g and 5,000g (subject to device weight and voltage output) and for temperature between -50°C and 180°C.

Millbrook’s accelerometer calibration laboratory scope document shows the types of devices (IE, PR, PE), output voltages and device masses that are within the scope of its calibration systems.
