Sensor Immunity and Calibration Testing
At a glance
Millbrook carries out static and dynamic vehicle crash sensor immunity and calibration tests on a variety of vehicle types.

These tests enable Millbrook’s customers to ensure that their safety systems, such as the airbag deployment sensors, are not triggered unintentionally.

Sensor immunity and calibration testing is conducted in Millbrook’s safety systems laboratory, where the required test impacts are set up according to customer requirements.
Millbrook also conducts this testing on its on and off-road test tracks and on its Belgian Pavé. Its secure tracks provide a realistic environment to conduct this highly repeatable testing. Sensor immunity and calibration test data is collected with real-time filming. This helps engineers to review vehicle sensor tests and can be referenced within customer test reports.
Example sensor test scenarios include:
- Hammer blows
- Door slams
- Shopping trolley impacts
- Bicycle impact
- Ramp jumps
- Pot hole strikes
- Kerb strikes
- Driving on 2 wheels
- Off-road driving / obstacles
- Aggressive / Evasive manoeuvres
